VRCA Construction Learning Forum returns to Whistler

The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) is hosting its 3rd Annual Construction Learning Forum in Whistler, B.C.

The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) is hosting its 3rd Annual Construction Learning Forum in Whistler, B.C.

The event includes two days of professional development workshops and networking opportunities at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler on May 23-24.

The education workshops are divided into three streams.

There will be courses on productivity, business development and safety, which have been designed with project managers, superintendents, site supervisors, safety officers, CEOs, owners, estimators and contractors in mind.

The productivity stream includes courses on lean construction, improving employee productivity, recruiting and retaining workers, and integrated project delivery.

The business development workshop stream includes courses on mentoring, technology, negotiations and green construction.

The B.C. Construction Safety Alliance is partnering with the VRCA to present the safety education stream.

These workshops include complying with Bill 14, tools for measuring safety, dealing with a fatality or serious injury, and protecting workers from occupational disease.

Canadian Football League commissioner Mark Cohon will kick off the event as the keynote speaker.

Reed Construction Data’s general manager and VP Mark Casaletto will finish things off with the closing keynote address, before some attendees head out for a round of golf.

Registration costs $775 for VRCA members, but is open to non-members as well. The registration deadline is May 16.
