In this week's update, we look at some of the stories coming up in the June 11th edition of the Journal of Commerce. The Manitoba Heavy Construction Association and the province of Manitoba have partnered to create a heavy equipment training program for aboriginal students.

The Manitoba Heavy Construction Association and the province of Manitoba have partnered to create a heavy equipment training program for aboriginal students. The program is the first of its kind, and 16 students have enrolled for the first course.

Kelly LaPointe has a report from the International Open Shop Conference in Ottawa on how Building Information Modeling (BIM) is gaining traction in the Canadian construction industry.

Korky Koroluk’s column this week is on Greenroads, an environmental certification initiative for roads similar to LEED.
