The Great Canadian Infrastructure Challenge's second challenge urges Canadians to tell Members of Parliament that they want increased infrastructure investment.

“We want to make sure that our Members of Parliament (MPs) get our message loud and clear — the more correspondence Canada’s MPs receive from people like you and the people in your city, the more influence the campaign can have,” states the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) on the challenge’s website.

FCM launched its Great Canadian Infrastructure Challenge earlier in the fall to include Canadians in a nationwide conversation about the importance of municipal infrastructure.

The first challenge asked Canadians “Are you in?” and asked for their help in spreading the word about how important infrastructure is to the economic health of the nation.

The federal government currently invests $3.25 billion in public infrastructure.

The FCM is proposing that be increased to $5.75 billion.

Over the next several months, the website will feature a series of challenges that will give Canadians the opportunity to get more involved in the national debate on long-term investments in our core infrastructure.
