EllisDon is sending chief estimator Jason Walker to Haiti to assist in the construction of a trades facility that will provide skilled training for local residents in Haiti.

Walker will be working with Empower Global, a Canadian-registered local charity, to oversee work teams and on-site construction. Walker will also be accompanied by six other experts from related businesses. From Jan. 27 to Feb. 7, this team will be constructing a trades facility in Cap Haitien (on the northern coast of Haiti) that will host welding, automotive and woodworking workshops. Tools brought and utilized during this project will remain in Cap Haitien for future trainees.

EllisDon is participating in a $100,000 fundraising campaign that will finance construction of the training facility, warehouse, accommodations and equipment.
