The Government of British Columbia has signed a $192.9 million fixed-price performance-based agreement with Plenary Justice for that organization to design, build, partially finance construction and provide facilities management services for the Okanagan Correctional Centre for the next 30 years.

Plenary Justice was announced as the preferred proponent for this project on Jan. 10, 2014.

The province has also worked in partnership with the Osoyoos Indian Band to expand and realign roads and services, such as water, sewage, gas and geothermal, for the Senkulmen Business Park project site in order to accommodate the new correctional centre.

Major construction is expected to begin in August 2014 and conclude in fall 2016.
