RCMP in Boyle Alberta have laid criminal charges against a 40-year old man and are investigating the seizure of thousands of dollars in stolen property, including construction equipment.

“We are looking at a number of counts for each of the criminal offences, possession of stolen property, fraudulent concealment and tampering with a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)” said Sgt. Kevin McGillivray.

According to the RCMP, a search warrant was executed on April 9.

The warrant was executed at a rural property east of Boyle, within the County of Athabasca.

The search uncovered about $200,000 worth of stolen property and about nine vehicles were seized from the property.

A 40 year old male has been arrested and criminal charges are expected to be laid upon the conclusion of the investigation.

Other items seized from the property include a travel trailer, skid steer, side by side and flat deck trailers.

It is alleged that these vehicle’s were stolen from various communities throughout northern Alberta including Lac La Biche, Fort McMurray, Edmonton and Cold Lake.

The owners of the stolen equipment will be contacted to inform them of the recovery and arrangements will be made to return them.
