In this week's preview, we look at some of the stories we'll be covering in the Journal of Commerce for the week of August 4th, 2014.

The British Columbia Institute of Technology has received $1.35 million for critical trades training. The funding will open up 272 seats starting in September aligned to the needs of British Columbia's growing liquefied natural gas sector.

Staff writer Russell Hixson has a story about officials referring to incidents of ice falling from the Port Mann Bridge as "acts of God," and Russell has another story about the WorkSafeBC investigation of a recent trench collapse in Surrey, B.C. where one worker was temporarily trapped.
