ATKINS

The recent installation of 29-metre diameter turbine blades at the Bahrain World Trade Center is part of a pioneering stride for environmental architecture designed by Atkins. It’s the first building in the world to incorporate three, large scale integrated wind turbines which will generate 11 to 15 per cent of the energy requirements of the two 50-storey towers. The shape of the towers channels the airflow through the turbines, improving their function and energy generation output. Tower construction is expected to be completed this year.
