Road to be built in two phases
VANCOUVER
Yukon Zinc Corporation has awarded to Arctic Construction Ltd. and Ross River Dena Council a contract to build a 24 km access road for the Wolverine project. Up until now, all transport of heavy equipment and supplies has been by winter road and air support.
The initial construction activities will include pioneering the access road from the Robert Campbell Highway to the Wolverine mine site.
During the first phase, a four metre wide road will be built using standard construction practices to transport equipment and supplies required for maintenance of the site and initial construction activities at site.
Phase II of the road will consist of constructing an all weather permanent access road. That phase remains contingent upon financing.
