Kelowna’s Big White Ski Resort prepares for expansion

Plans have been set in motion for an expansion of the Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna with designs for the Chateau Blanc Resort, a hotel and commercial development. The owner of the $200 million project is Berezan Management Ltd. There will be 350 hotel and dormitory units built on the eight-acre site during the first phase of the project.
R-Four Contracting Ltd. is the construction manager and Downs/Archambault & Partners is the architect. Construction is expected to start in May 2008 and be completed by 2009. The consulting civil engineer is MMM Group Ltd., while the consulting mechanical engineer is Cobalt Engineering, with other consulting engineering services provided by Morrison Hershfield Ltd. and LMDG Building Code Consultants Ltd. Geotechnical consulting will be done by Interior Testing Services Ltd.
