Moose Jaw ready to select project manager for $61-million sports multiplex project

The City of Moose Jaw has issued a request for proposal (RFP) to secure a project manager for their $61-million multiplex and soccer/field-house facility.

The RFP closed July 22, 2008 at 14:00. Once awarded, the project manager will assist to retain a design/build contractor through a request for proposal.

The construction cost for this project is estimated at approximately $41.3 million. The multiplex will include a 45,000-seat NHL-sized hockey rink and an eight-sheet curling facility with viewing area and lounge.

Total area of the building will be approximately 28,000 square feet. The new multiplex will replace the existing Moose Jaw Civic Centre.

The soft-sided soccer/field-house facility will include a playing field approximately 60m by 100m in size; viewing area; washrooms; change rooms and office space.

Construction will begin at the end of 2008 or early 2009, and should be complete by September 2010.
