Agreement funds training for low-skilled workers in Alberta

The federal government and the Alberta government announced on September 2 that they signed a $316 million agreement to help workers improve their skills and get better jobs. Residents of Alberta who are not eligible for training under the Employment Insurance (EI) program and under-represented segments of the labour force, such as Aboriginal people, and immigrants will gain access to training.The agreement will help people move from low-skilled work to better jobs in sectors such as construction.
