Apprentices join together at Ships Point for National Apprenticeship Contest

On Saturday, September 6, 2008, carpentry, drywall and millwright apprentices gathered at Ships Point in Victoria, B.C.’s Inner Harbour for the National Apprenticeship Contest.

Campbell Construction employee Ryan O’Hara, a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 1598, took home top honours for carpentry.

Local 1598 was the host of the event, which included both written and practical tests in each of the disciplines.

The contests were followed by the Canada Council of Carpenters Convention.
