Burka Architects complete designs for Brownstones on Wallace project

Burka Architects Inc. has completed the designs for a townhouse development called Brownstones on Wallace in Toronto.

Located at 351 Wallace Avenue, the old CIL paint plant site, the project includes 134 three-storey units in seven blocks.

Construction is expected to begin late in 2008 on the 14,317-square-meter development.

Rottmann Associates Ltd. (structural) and Rheinland 2000 Ltd. (mechanical and electrical) completed the engineering designs for the townhouses. DJ Campbell Construction Ltd., the construction managers, expect to issue a tender for sub trade pricing late in 2008.

The homes will have a concrete foundation, wood framing, gypsum board interior walls and ceilings and a variety of floor finishes.
