Port Mann Bridge construction lowers speed limit

B.C. drivers on Highway 1 between Vancouver and Langley will have to slow down to avoid breaking the new speed limit for the construction of a wider freeway, upgraded interchanges and new Port Mann Bridge.

The speed limit has been reduced from 100 km/h to 70 km/h from the Cassiar Tunnel in Vancouver to Grandview Highway in Burnaby.

From Grandview Highway to 208th Street in Langley, the limit has been dropped to 80 km/h.

Between 120,000 and 130,000 people use the Port Mann Bridge daily.
