Eighth Avenue Place in Calgary pre-certified LEED Platinum

The Eighth Avenue Place highrise in Calgary has been pre-certified LEED CS (Core and Shell) Platinum.

It will become Canada’s first and North America’s third LEED Platinum highrise office building.

The 49-story tower includes 1.1 million square feet of space and was the first highrise office building in Canada to be pre-certified LEED CS (core and shell) Gold from the U.S. Green Building Council.

However, it obtained the Platinum rating after a second certification included additional sustainable innovations.

The innovations included an air distribution system and other energy saving measures.

EllisDon Construction Service Inc. is the construction manager.

The architects are Pickard Chilton Architects, Kendall Heaton Associates Inc. and Gibbs Gage Architects.
