VIDEO: B.C. students show off their skills at the Heavy Equipment Operator Open House
Abbotsford, B.C. School District students who participated in the Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) ACE IT Apprenticeship Training Program were able to show off their skills recently at an open house held in the Lafarge Cannon Pit in Mission, B.C.
Industry Training Authority CEO spent time with the Journal of Commerce to explain the importance of presenting skilled trades as a viable career path for young people.
Evans pointed to the open house as an important collaboration between education and industry to ensure not only that youth have options in the trades but that industry can address a growing labour gap.
