Contract awarded for new health care centre
Northwest Territories based Arctic Canada Construction and Bird Design Build Construction have been awarded a contract for a new health centre in Hay River.
The new health centre will be a state of the art facility that will provide primary care, acute and emergency care services and medical/surgical day care.
It will also offer rehabilitation, dialysis, diagnostic and lab services, as well as a range of support services, including food services, laundry, maintenance, materiel management, medical records and a pharmacy.
Schematic designs will be finalized this fall, with foundation work to commence in the spring of 2013.
It is estimated that the new health care centre will be completed by fall 2015.
