VIDEO: Journal of Commerce weekly update for August 13th, 2012
This week's Journal of Commerce covers Scan-Link Technologies, a new system designed to let heavy equipment operators know when workers are behind their vehicle. The system has been adopted in Fort McMurray and Edmonton, and the City of Vancouver is also considering adoption of the technology.
The 75-year-old Pattullo Bridge in Metro Vancouver will be repaved and revamped the weekend of August 17 to August 20. The bridge will be closed to traffic as workers conduct repairs and address safety concerns.
Peter Kenter has a story about mobile caterers, the unsung heroes of the construction industry, and columnist Stephen Bauld looks into ways to improve the contracting process.
