Evergreen Construction
BRADLEY FEHR
Construction crews are busy near Lougheed Mall in Burnaby, as a new permanent lane is under construction of the west side of North Road. The roadway is intended to help minimize traffic disruption during the construction of a guideway for the Evergreen Line Rapid Transit Project.
After construction is complete, the new lane will replace the one taken up by the guideway.
Tybo Contacting Ltd. is the contractor on the project. The new rapid transit line will connect Coquitlam to Vancouver via Port Moody and Burnaby.
More than 8,000 direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created during construction.
