BCIT gets government cash

The government of British Columbia is spending $5 million in capital funding to upgrade the Burnaby and Marine campuses of the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).

The upgrades will focus on select campus infrastructure and improvement of operational systems.

The ventilation systems at Great Northern Way and at the welding shop on the Burnaby campus will also be improved.

BCIT also received over $931,000 in one-time funding to provide training in skilled trades, including aircraft maintenance at the Richmond Aerospace Technology Campus, and foundation courses in welding, automotive, carpentry, joinery and piping will be offered at the Burnaby campus.
