Regina construction crews rupture gas line
Construction crews hit a gas line in a Regina neighbourhood last week causing the evacuation of several buildings.
The incident happened at St. John Street and 4th Avenue on Aug. 29 around 8:30 a.m.
As a result, about 200 people were evacuated from offices and shops in east-central Regina.
The leak on 4th Avenue was in front of the Regina Public Schools division office. Staff at the school building and a food distribution centre were evacuated at about 9 a.m.
Fire officials took several hours to fix the broken line. No one was hurt in the incident.
