Journal of Commerce Preview for the week of February 24th, 2014

In this week's preview, we look at some of the stories we'll be covering in the Journal of Commerce for the week of February 24th, 2014.

The next generation of LEED will officially launch in June. LEED Version 4 will, according to the Canadian Greed Building Council, take LEED “to the next level.”

Staff writer Richard Gilbert has a story about reaction to the recently released BC budget, which is balanced but also cuts back on capital spending.

Richard also has a story about a new labour market forecast from Buildforce Canada, which predicts labour mobility will be necessary to address increasing skill shortages.

A wooly mammoth tusk was discovered at a construction site in Seattle, Washington. Workers came upon the tusk while working on an apartment complex in the Cascade area.

Line Contractors Association CEO Jeff Skosnik has a column about skilled workforce development in B.C., and this week’s feature video is an interview with Kinder Morgan president Ian Anderson about upcoming projects in British Columbia.
